Food and drink consumption compared to national guidelines in the United Kingdom 2013
This statistic illustrates the distribution of household food and drink purchases compared to the NHS's 'eatwell plate ideal' in the United Kingdom in 2013, by food type. Each food group is based on the 'eatwell plate ideal', generated by the National Health Service to highlight the proportions of each food type people should eat within their diet. Of the proportions actually purchased as household supplies, 21.6 percent was made up of food and drinks high in fat and/or sugar, compared to the recommended 8 percent.
