Importance of sustainability to global consumers when buying apparel in 2017
This statistic shows the importance of sustainability to consumers in relation to clothing purchase worldwide in 2017, by country. In 2017, 60 percent of Indian respondents rated sustainability as very important when purchasing clothes, with a further 29 percent rating it as somewhat important. In comparison, 56 percent of American consumers rated sustainability as being important in clothing purchase in 2017, with 22 percent and 34 percent of respondents rating sustainability as very and somewhat important respectively.
