5G chipset patent legal status in the U.S. and China 2020, by stage
As of 2020, there were 2,150 granted and 2,126 pending 5G chipset technology patents in China, while the United States (U.S.) only had 1,067 granted and 515 pending 5G chipset patents to date. China appears to be continuously evolving their 5G chipset technologies through their numerous pending patents, while the U.S. appears to have lagged behind in comparison.
