Consumer Electronics Market in the U.S.
Home to tech giants such as Apple, HP and Dell, the Americans have a great appetite for technological devices, be it a good old PC or the newest generation of hearables. Americans spend the most money on smartphones, with the market projected to be worth 80 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. The overall consumer electronics market is projected to reach 301 billion U.S. dollars in size in the same year, an increase of more than 130 billion dollars since 2009.
U.S. Smart Speaker Market
The hottest gadget in recent years is undoubtedly the smart speaker. Since Amazon introduced its pioneering Echo speaker into the consumer market in 2015, the smart speaker has gained increasing popularity among consumers. As the market becomes more dynamic after Google and other companies launched their own smart speaker products, shipment figures went up dramatically, from 7.2 million in 2016 to a projected 36.6 million units in 2019. As of the first quarter of 2019, the ownership rate of smart speakers among U.S. broadband households stood at 31 percent.
