In a 2018 survey of children and young people's responses to statements about personal wellbeing, 94 percent of respondents said they had a warm and dry place to live. Additionally 90 percent said they felt safe at home. In October and November 2018, the New Zealand government sought the views of children and young people to help them formulate the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy.
