Regions with the highest cashless trade share in Russia Q1 2023
In the first quarter of 2023, the Russian region with the highest penetration of cashless trade was the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, at over 76 percent. Residents of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic spent nearly 74 percent of their trade expenses without using cash. Across the country on average, this proportion has seen a steady increase since 2017, reaching around 63 percent in the first quarter of 2023.
