Leading African countries investing abroad 2022
South Africa was the main African economy investing abroad in 2022. That year, the foreign direct investment (FDI) outflows from the country amounted to 2.57 billion U.S. dollars. Morocco and Mozambique followed, with outward FDI reaching a value of 620 million and 560 million U.S. dollars, respectively. On the other hand, Egypt attracted the highest value of FDI in 2022.
