Share of public and private pharma spending SEA 2020, by country
As of 2020, the distribution of public and private pharmaceutical expenditure was rather unbalanced in Southeast Asian countries other than Malaysia. In Thailand, close to 91 percent of pharmaceutical spending was financed by the public sector that year. Comparatively, only around 14 percent of Indonesia's pharmaceutical spending was public.
