Voters turnout of the legislative election Indonesia 1987-2019
Indonesia holds a national election every five years to choose a new president, vice president, parliamentary and local representatives. Higher participation rates in legislative elections were observed during the New Order era, falling between 1966 and 1998, where the Golkar party always dominated the elections. A significant shift occurred in 2004, marking the first election during the Reform era after President Suharto's resignation in 1998.
