This statistic presents the distribution of sovereign wealth fund assets worldwide as of June 2015, by region. Sovereign wealth funds are state-owned funds originating mainly from natural resources trading or foreign-exchange reserves surplus. They are invested in various financial assets in order to, among others, diversify the country revenue sources or increase the liquidity. It was found that Asian sovereign wealth funds constituted 39.74 percent of the global SWFs in June 2015.
