In 2022, the average monthly expenditure of a South Korean middle school student on private education averaged 438 thousand South Korean won, up from about 392 thousand South Korean won in the previous year. The amount of money spent on private education of middle school students has steadily increased in recent years, up by nearly 59 percent since 2012.
