A study held in the United States showed that as of the final quarter of 2019, 18 percent of respondents said that they had much less trust in online news sites than they did a year ago. Most respondents either trusted news sites less or stated that their level of trust in such platforms had not changed, highlighting the impact of inaccuracy, bias, and fake news, all of which have long been problematic topics for U.S. news consumers.
