Global sources of ocean microplastics 2018

This statistic displays the distribution of the world's sources of ocean microplastics as of 2018. As of thattime, some 28 percent of the ocean's microplastics originated from car tires. It is estimated that microplastics account for 94 percent of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the ocean.
