This statistic illustrates the budget share of meals taken outside of home among French households in 2011, according to eating places and age group. It shows that almost 50 percent of student households' total food expenditure was dedicated to outside meals. Also, 18 percent of those meals were taken at canteens, whereas 17 percent were purchased at a bar or a café.
