Trade-carrying regional transport corridors in Southern Africa by volume 2017-2040
The North-South corridor retained the highest volume of trade-carrying transport in Southern Africa in 2017. The trade corridor connects the ports of Botswana, DR Congo, Copperbelt, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe by a road network. In 2040, the trade-carrying transport volume is expected to reach 27.5 million metric tons. Other dominant corridors in the region are Maputo and Dar Es Salam.
