As of the first half of 2023, the global average levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) produced from onshore wind reached 42 U.S. dollars per megawatt-hour generated. This energy source accounted for the smallest LCOE that year, while solar PV trackers had the lowest LCOE in the first half of 2020, at 39 U.S. dollars per megawatt-hour.
