Per capita alcohol consumption in South Korea 1961-2021
In 2021, approximately 7.7 liters of alcohol were consumed per capita by people aged 15 or older in South Korea. This is part of what has largely been a downward trend over the past few decades. Alcohol consumption peaked in 1973 with 16.8 liters consumed per capita. In general the mid-1960s to the late 1970s saw the highest amount of recorded alcohol consumption in South Korea, with levels starting to decline at the beginning of the 1980s.
