Share of U.S. consumers who prefer online car retail 2020 by activity
In 2020, the majority of U.S. consumers preferred to use online or at-home methods to find information on car buying incentives. The majority also preferred to use the internet to be notified of whether they qualified for vehicle financing options, to calculate monthly payments, and to apply for financing. However, consumers would rather test-drive the vehicle, sign the final contract, and acquire the car in-person at the dealership; all these options appealing to less than a quarter of shoppers.
