UK children: harmful content seen on social media platforms 2022, by FSM status
A 2022 survey conducted the in the United Kingdom found that children who were eligible for free school meals (FSM) were more likely to see harmful content than children who were not eligible. Overall, 42 percent of children receiving free school meals had experienced anonymous trolling, compared to 22 percent of children who were non FSM. Additionally, FSM students were also more likely to see violent content, sexualized images, and images of diet restriction.
