According to a survey on beauty index in Indonesia in 2022, product safety gained more attention from respondents as their main concern when choosing a beauty product, from less than half of the respondents in 2019 to nearly 80 percent in 2023. On the other hand, fewer Indonesian women in 2023 were considering beauty products that were recommended by influencers compared to in 2019.
