The International
‘The International’ was originally organized as a promotional event for the release of Dota 2 and has subsequently been held each year with a growing prize pool, contributed primarily by crowdfunding sources. Players are offered the opportunity to purchase a form of battle pass known as a ‘Compendium’ that offers additional content within the game, with a quarter of the revenue generated through ‘Compendium’ sales directly contributing to the prize pool.
Online streaming platforms
The popularity of both eSports as an entity and, by extension, eSports events, is largely driven by the growing availability of online streaming platforms, such as Youtube and Twitch. This allows a variety of eSports organizations and personnel to offer a range of live commentary, retrospective analysis, match predictions, and player interviews, both independently and in cooperation with eSports events. Twitch, for example, has hosted live streams of the ‘League of Legends World Championship’ since 2012, and ‘The International’ since 2013, with multiple streams available in a range of different languages.

What is a bear market?
A bear market occurs when the value of a stock market suffers a prolonged decline of more than 20 percent over a period of at least two months. The COVID-19 pandemic caused severe concern and sent stock markets on a steep downward spiral. The S&P 500 achieved a record closing high of 3,386 on February 19, 2020. However, just over three weeks later, the market closed on 2,480, which represented a decline of around 26 percent in only 16 sessions.

Today, WeChat is one of the leading social networks worldwide, ranking fifth in terms of active user number. It has users from different age groups.

The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar year; therefore, it is ten days shorter than the Gregorian solar calendar. Thus, Ramadan will take place from the 23rd March to the 21th of April 2023. The fasting hours are calculated from dusk until dawn of each day for the whole of the month of Ramadan. Differing fasting times in different places result from the fact that the length of each day varies based on the latitude of each location and changes each day due to the Earth's orbit around the sun. However, there might be slight interpretational differences between different schools of thought and branches of Islam.

In 2023, e-commerce in Brazil was forecast to generate approximately 47.6 billion U.S. dollars in revenue, a 25 percent increase from the 38 billion dollars recorded a year earlier. While Mexico ranked second in Latin America and the Caribbean, with over 42 billion dollars in online sales revenue projected for 2023, Colombia would surpass 10 billion dollars that year – roughly 13 percent more than the 8.9 billion dollar revenue estimated for 2022.
A fragile position
Brazil may be the leading e-commerce market in Latin America, but its position atop the leaderboard grows fragile as Mexico continues to gain traction. While the share of consumers using e-commerce is higher in Brazil than in Mexico, the latter experienced remarkable growth in retail e-commerce revenues during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. That led the North American country to grab an even larger portion of the pie, reinforcing Mexico's potential to lead e-commerce in the region.

Still, Brazil is home to several of the region’s leading e-commerce companies. As a matter of fact, in terms of total sales, three of the top four online retail companies in Latin America were founded there. In Mexico, several homegrown players are among the most popular e-commerce websites in the country, but unlike their Brazilian counterparts, much of their influence has yet to reach the greater Latin American region.
