The Round of 16 Winners (According to Google)

The group stage is now complete in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. Having already seen a couple of upsets - Germany finishing bottom of their group, for example - and a lot of the other historically strong teams faltering, the beautiful game is arguably harder to predict at this tournament than it has been for some time. Nevertheless, Google has provided the 'win probability' for each team due to play in the round of 16 matches.

While there is no such thing as a dead cert, the closest Google thinks there is to one is the tie between Belgium and Japan. Here, the Belgians have been awarded a 69 percent chance of winning compared to just ten percent for Japan. The biggest hope for Japan is apparently holding out for a draw and nicking it after penalties - although it is clearly unlikely they will approach the game like this. At the other end of the scale, Uruguay vs. Portugal is looking like the hardest match to call - the South American's are edging it by one percent.
