No Clear Prime Minister Potential in the UK?
UK Politics
Theresa May will address the Conservative Party Conference on Wednesday where she is unlikely to receive a harmonious response. With the deep divisions caused by Brexit and her handling of the process so far, the prime minister has a number of political enemies in her camp, some of which also have their eyes on her job. As a recent Ipsos MORI poll reveals though, there is far from a strong field of potential new leaders waiting in the wings. The fact that the 33 percent of people saying they think May has what it takes to be a good PM is the strongest result highlights the situation. Perhaps her most likely challenger, Boris Johnson, only boasts a score of 25 percent, while a robust 64 percent say they do not think he has what it takes.
