During a survey carried out between July 2021 and June 2022, approximately 11 percent of French people aged between 18 and 19 said they were following a vegan diet. The share of vegans among respondents aged between 40 and 49 was at two percent.
Veganism among young people in Europe
The share of vegans of approximately 11 percent among people aged between 18 and 19 is particularly high in France in comparison to other European countries. By comparison, the share is approximately three percent among people aged between 18 and 19 in both Germany and Italy and close to zero in Spain.
The original survey question was: "Do you follow one or more of the following nutrition rules?" This statistic shows the share of all who answered "vegan)".
