Laptop computers, also known as notebooks, are portable computers that you can take with you and use in different places. Since laptops are supposed to be used on the go, they have a battery, which allows them to operate without being plugged into a power outlet. Laptops also have a power adapter, which can be recharged and work as a battery. The history of laptops goes back to the 1980s when technological developments helped develop the first types of laptops; however, their appearance and capabilities are not to be compared with today's laptops. Modern laptops with extensive features started to be developed from the 2000s onwards.
