Brand awareness for vodka brands among consumers in the U.S. 2017

In terms of brand awareness among respondents in the U.S. at the age of 21 and older, Smirnoff is the most popular vodka brand. Owned by British alcohol conglomerate Diageo, which also owns the likes of Johnnie Walker and Baileys, almost 80% of the respondents are familiar with this brand of vodka. Absolut Vodka ranks second with more than 7 out of 10 respondents that are aware of the Swedish vodka brand, followed by Grey Goose and Skyy.

This is quite like the trend among consumers in the UK where Smirnoff Red Label is followed by Absolut when it comes to their favorite vodka brands. All in all, vodka of these two brands was consumed by over 7 million people in the UK in 2018.

Consumption of vodka in the U.S.
Vodka consumption is on the rise in the United States. Close to 77-million 9-liter cases of the spirit were sold in the U.S. in 2018 which is 7% more than in 2013. It is also one of the most regularly consumed beverages in the United States among respondents at the age of 18 and older, only preceded by domestic beer and coffee.
