Who spends the most on online shopping in Europe?
No country in Europe spends more on online shopping than the United Kingdom. An average consumer in the country of her Majesty spent 921 euros to purchase products online in 2019. The Polish consumers, on the other hand, spent close to 420 euros on online shopping per person during the same period. E-commerce sales in the United Kingdom reached a value of 688 billion British pounds in 2018, making UK one of the biggest e-commerce markets around the world.
E-commerce market in Poland
It might not be one of the biggest markets in Europe, but e-commerce is growing at a rapid rate in Poland. More people are using internet with every year passing with the internet penetration rate having reached over 83 percent among users aged 7 to 75 in 2019. The number of registered e-commerce stores has almost doubled in the European country in the period of 2013 to 2019 as more and more Polish consumers turn towards online shops to purchase their products. The e-commerce revenue in Poland is expected to grow to US$15 billion in 2023, almost double of that in 2017.
