This includes country-specific providers of bus transport e.g. Eurolines, National Express and Greyhound. As a rule, travel for single passengers and groups or time-limited subscription based travel can be booked up to a year in advance. The booking volume includes all booked travels made by users from the selected region, independent of the departure and arrival. Users represent the people who have booked the bus tickets, independent of the number of travelers on the booking.

Offline bookings made, for example, in a travel agent’s office or by telephone or at an automated payment point are not included; a prerequisite for this segment is an online checkout process on the booking website of the transport provider. Analyst Opinion

Many new, low-cost companies entered the markets in the past years. Since then, taking a bus ride has been becoming a more attractive mobility alternative and we expect the increasing competition, especially in the United States and in Europe, resulting in a further price decrease.
