Methodology

 

In order to compile the list of "America’s Best PR Agencies 2021", the independent research institute and statistics platform Statista conducted a comprehensive survey among subject matter experts and clients of PR agencies. The survey was carried out between the 8th of June and the 17th of July 2020. Based on the results, Statista identified the most recommended PR Agencies in America.

Who took part in the survey?

In order to identify "America’s Best PR Agencies" we invited the following groups of professionals to take part in the survey:

- Experts (e. g. employees of PR agencies, freelancers)

- Clients of PR agencies (e. g. employees in PR/marketing departments or PR-decision-makers).

How was the survey conducted?

The survey was conducted online. All participants received a survey invitation via a personalized email. In addition, experts and clients were recruited directly via a carefully profiled online-access-panel. Furthermore, experts and clients who were not directly invited were able to join the survey via an open link and were asked to validate themselves using their company email address.

The participants had to qualify for the survey first (expert or client) and were then able to name all PR agencies they know and had experience with. The entry of a PR agency was aided by an autocomplete function, which showed PR agencies from a preselected longlist of more than 7,000 PR agencies. It was also possible to freely name any other PR agency. Afterwards, the participants were able to indicate on a scale from zero (very unlikely) to ten (very likely) whether they would recommend a particular PR agency or not. Self-recommendations (recommendation of one's own firm) and recommendations within PR agency networks were not considered.

Top List

 

The final top list is based on the number of nominations (brand awareness) and recommendations each PR agency received from the survey participants. The nominations were given less weight compared to the recommendations. PR agencies that received the most combined nominations and recommendations score made it onto the top list.

This score is indicated by the classification into five and four star groups. Five stars indicate that a given company received a score value at least as high as the median score value of all firms on the list, whereas four stars indicate that a given company received a score below the median.

In total, more than 12,700 experts and 20,500 customers were invited to participate in the survey, providing more than 5,000 nominations/recommendations of PR agencies.

The ranking was created through an elaborate process. The quality of PR agencies that are not included in the list is not disputed.

In consideration for payment, you (The Licensee) are hereby granted a nonexclusive, worldwide, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable license during the term of this Agreement for digital use rights (web posting, email, digital presentations, branded social media and similar) and print reproduction use rights (letterhead, sales materials, reports, white papers, brochures, posters and signage and similar) of the Forbes Logo (The Logo) pictured in this agreement. Licensee acknowledges and agrees that The Logo and all right, title and interest therein, is and shall remain the exclusive property of FM. Licensee shall not distort, misrepresent, alter the meaning of or otherwise edit The Logo. FM may terminate this Agreement upon 30 days’ written notice if Licensee materially breaches any of the terms of this Agreement; provided, however, that this Agreement will not terminate if the breaching party has substantially cured the breach to the reasonable satisfaction of FM within 30 days of a notice pursuant to this section. Upon termination or expiration of this Agreement, Licensee’s right to use The Logo shall immediately terminate and all rights granted to Licensee hereunder with respect to The Logo shall automatically revert to FM without further notice.

This Agreement contains the full and complete understanding of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior representations and understanding, whether oral or written. This Agreement shall be construed and the rights and obligations of the parties shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York.
