This statistic displays the results of a survey conducted by Ipsos about the levels of concern regarding the use of disposable, non-recyclable products among Malaysians as of March 2019. About 92 percent of respondents surveyed were concerned about the use of non-biodegradable, disposable products, while seven percent were not concerned.

Original question: "Some people have recently been discussing the effects on the environment of plastic packaging, plastic bags, and other disposable objects which cannot be recycled. How concerned, if at all, would you say you are about this issue?"

According to the source, respondents were urban & educated, and with higher incomes than their fellow citizens. They were referred to as “Upper Deck Consumer Citizens”. They were not nationally representative of their country.
