Total internal migration within Russia 2000-2022
Around 3.5 million people migrated within Russia in 2022, which was less than in the previous year. In the early 2000s, the annual number of migrants within the territory of Russia exceeded two million people. Later on, the figures steadily shrank, reaching 1.7 million in 2009. After 2010, the volume of internal migration started to expand again, peaking at over 4.3 million in 2018.
