India - salary satisfaction among working women by city tier 2018

This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted between September and October 2018 about the opinion on satisfaction about salary among working women in India, by city tier. About 51 percent of women from tier 3 cities said they were happy with their salary, while only 40 percent of the surveyed women from tier 1 cities stated the same. It was seen that women from Tier 3 cities were generally more satisfied with their salaries compared to their counterparts in Tier 1 cities.

The survey question was phrased as follows: How happy are you with your salary?
The survey was conducted using an online interview administered to members of a panel comprising of over 30,000 individuals.
Indian cities are classified as per tiers based on their population. Tier 1 cities have a population of 1000,000 and above. Tier 2 cities have a population from 50,000 to 99,999. And Tier 3 cities have a population of 20,000 to 49,999.
