Supplementary notes

According to Facebook, "We remove content that glorifies violence or celebrates the suffering or humiliation of others. We do allow people to share some graphic content to raise awareness about current events and issues. In these cases, we may hide the content from people under 18 and cover it with a warning for those over 18, so that people are aware that it's graphic or violent before they choose to view it. Violent and graphic content on Facebook is often driven by offline events. For example, content actioned spiked in Q1 2019 as people shared graphic images and videos related to a series of tragic, real world events that took place in that quarter, such as the Tlahuelilpan pipeline explosion in Mexico. In Q2 and Q3 2019, there were fewer such events, leading to a decrease in content actioned."
