Global data protection and privacy rule awareness 2019, by region

This statistic ranks the share of internet users worldwide who are aware of their country's data protection and privacy rules as of February 2019, sorted by region. During the survey period, 49 percent of respondents in Europe were very or somewhat aware of their domestic data protection and privacy rules. However, only 29 percent of respondents from North America stated the same.
