Number of domestic trips taken for personal purposes in Ireland 2008-2019
Domestic leisure tourism rose steadily in Ireland from 2011 to 2019. According to the UNWTO, over 5.8 million domestic trips were taken in Ireland for vacations, leisure, or recreational purposes in 2019. In that year, a further 5.2 million domestic trips were made for other personal reasons.
