
Interest in reading diverse books by underrepresented authors in Canada 2018
The graph presents information the level of interest in reading books by underrepresented authors among book readers in Canada as of November 2018. The data shows that the majority of survey respondents were very or somewhat interested in reading books by BIPOC or disabled/differently abled authors, with 46 and 43 percent respectively saying that they would be keen to read books written by or from the point of view of individuals within these groups. However, book readers were less interested in reading books by LGBTQ+ authors or authors from a religious minority.
