Share of Spaniards who have masturbated by gender 2020

According to the latest surveys in Spain, almost everybody masturbates. The results show that 96 percent of Spanish men and 90 percent of women masturbated in Spain in 2020. Over one quarter of the Spaniards who masturbated did so on a weekly basis, with 33 percent of the surveyed population. Some 20 percent of respondents stated they self-stimulated a few times a month. Most Spaniards however seem reduce their masturbatory frequency when in a relationship, as reported by 34 percent of respondents.

The masturbatory routine of Spaniards

Men are more prone to pleasuring themselves to adult content than women, as was stated by 73 percent of male respondents. Women however are more likely to fantasize or use their imagination for the same purpose, although 41 percent of them also admitted to having used some sort of pornography to masturbate. Vibrating toys seem to be much more popular amongst women than men, with 27 percent of female respondents using this type of self-pleasure tool compared to only 4 percent of male respondents.

Sex toy trends in Spain

Sex toys are commonly used in Spain, with a share of 65 percent of women and 50 percent of men that sated to have used self-pleasure devices in the Mediterranean country in 2019. Some Spaniards are nevertheless still reluctant to use sex toys, the main reason being the lack of necessity according to 57 percent of respondents. Some 14 percent of them also thought these devices are too expensive or that it is too embarrassing to own one as reasons not to use sex toys
