EU and Mercosur: foreign trade balance 2008-2018

The foreign trade balance between the 28 European Union countries and Mercosur's full members (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) has been in favor of the EU since 2012. Inter-regional trade between these two blocs went from Mercosur having a trade surplus of almost 15 billion euros in 2008 to a foreign trade balance in favor of the EU of over eight billion euros in 2013. Ever since, the EU's trade flow balance with Mercosur has been positive, amounting to nearly 2.45 billion euros in 2018.
