Export value of cocoons from India FY 2013-2022

The export value of the raw material was over 69 million Indian rupees in India in financial year 2022. This was a significant increase as compared to the previous year. A worm takes about three days to make a cocoon around itself using silk filaments and the cocoon is formed from a single length of fine, strong, lustrous silk thread which is the source of commercial silk.
