As of June 2018, mobile phone theft in Brazil mostly affected younger people. According to a survey carried out in Brazil, 58 percent of Brazilian respondents aged between 16 and 29 years old said they had had a cell phone stolen. In contrast, only 31 percent of respondents aged 50 or older had been victims of cell phone theft.
