Global insurance protection gap 2010-2020 with forecast for 2025, by region
By 2025, the global protection gap is set to increase by five percent and the Asia-Pacific region will account for almost half of all uninsured risk. In 2020, the protection gap in the Asia-Pacific region was 619 billion U.S. dollars and this figure is forecast to rise to 889 billion U.S. dollars by 2025. The protection gap refers to the difference between the amount of insurance required and the amount of insurance actually taken out.
