Incentives for electric car purchases in Japan 2019
The majority of Japanese respondents, around 51.5 percent, considered governmental measures such as tax rebates and subsidies as leading incentives for purchasing electric cars, according to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2019. In contrast, only around 5.6 percent saw priority or special lanes for electric vehicles as main motivators to switch from conventional to electric vehicles.
