Forest cover in the national capital region of Delhi in India grew by over 700 percent between 1991 ad 2017, while there was a decline of forest cover by 42 percent in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Deforestation had become a common activity in the south Asian country in order to improve the infrastructure and house the rapidly increasing population.
