This statistic shows the distribution of the international tourists spending in Italy in 2017, by country of origin. According to the study, tourists coming from Germany accounted for the highest share of inbound tourists' expenditure (17.4 percent) over both EU and non-EU countries. By focusing only on non-EU countries, it can be noticed that visitors from the U.S. recorded the highest expenditure share (12.1 percent). Overall, tourists from EU accounted for more than a half of the total spending (58.6 percent).
