Private sector refinery capacity addition of petroleum India 2008-2021
In 2021, the refining capacity addition for petroleum under the private sector in India was approximately 88 million metric tons per annum. This was an increase from a capacity of around 80 million metric tons per annum from 2016. India has been establishing itself as a major player in the refining industry, and there are three major players in the private sector contributing to the capacity growth.
