Centers for organ transplants in Latin America 2021, by organ
In 2021, there were a total of 611 health institutions that performed kidney transplants in Latin America. Medical centers for liver transplants accounted for 246 institutions, while only 18 medical centers in the region performed small bowel transplants. That year, Latin America completed more than 12 thousand organ transplants, including kidney, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, and small bowel procedures.
