In Central America and Mexico, approximately 11 million people were estimated to be undernourished in 2018. The number of population whose habitual food intake is insufficient to maintain an active and healthy life in this region has increased since 2016, when 10.6 million Central Americans and Mexicans suffered from undernourishment.
