Gross government debt in advanced economies 2014-2020

In 2020 it is projected that the United States will have the highest gross government debt of any country, amounting to some 27.3 trillion U.S. dollars. However, in terms of government debt as a share of GDP, Japan carries a far higher government debt load than the U.S.
