In 2016, the number of murder victims per 100,000 inhabitants in Saint George's, Grenada, amounted to 15.4. The homicide rate in this Caribbean country has grown almost six-fold compared to 2015, when 2.6 murders per 100,000 population were reported. In 2016, the murder rate in the Grenadian capital has increased for the first time since 2012, year in which the highest level of homicides in the past decade was registered, at 18.2 murders per 100,000 people.
