U.S. youth exposure to secondhand smoke 2013-2016, by age and ethnicity
From 2013 to 2017, slightly over a half of non-Hispanic black youth aged between 12 and 17 years had been exposed to secondhand smoke in the U.S., compared to 16 percent of non-Hispanic Asian youth within the same age group. Secondhand smoke exposure can cause severe and fatal health problems such as respiratory and ear infection, asthma, infant death syndrome.
